Gothic Rock

Gothic rock, which is really post-punk in the execution of the brutal boys, dressed in the dark clothes, has emerged in the late 70's in the UK. It was formed under the influence of punk rock and psychedelic music. The sound of gothic rock can be described as depressed, sad, gloomy. This style became the ancestor of gothic metal, which has already gained more personal music. The first gothic rock group can be called "Joy Division". Nowadays these are Evanescence, Nightwish, The Cure. It is worth remembering that Russia's rock estrade in these latter days does not suffer from the lack of artists in this rock style.
